In recent years, practices in ophthalmology have been changing in order to adapt the offer of eye care to propose a versatile offer designed to the largest number of people. Since NIDEK started its activity, it has been proposing advanced solutions, able to change the working methods of vision professionals.
Over time, the refraction examination has changed different times. At the beginning, the refraction by itself (eye exam) was performed by the ophthalmologist himself/herself, using manual instruments. As new technologies and automation were introduced, the equipment used was automated so that the professionals could save time. For several years, the paramedical staff has been in charge of performing the refraction examinations inside the offices, as the tasks could be delegated.
To reaffirm his leadership on the market of ophthalmology and refraction, NIDEK relies on its innovation capacity. And that is what it is doing, right now, by introducing its solutions to address the problems met by the professionals: longer meeting dates, less specialists, less trained paramedical persons, etc.
At the beginning of 2021, NIDEK introduces the first independent subjective refraction system, in exclusive partnership with Glasspop. NIDEK, industrial leader on the refraction market, and Glasspop, young company specialised in the design of algorithmic solutions, now propose to ophthalmologists a unique and innovative refraction solution, adapted to the constraints of the profession.
Complete system including the NIDEK TS-610 device and the independent refraction kiosk (tablet + joystick and button control module). Now, only one person is required during the subjective refraction examination: the patient!
This solution completes the habits of the common users of NIDEK refraction devices. So, they can adapt, during their practice, their offer of cures by considering refraction in a different way.
