New NIDEK RT-Connect* software for remote control of subjective refraction examinations
NIDEK SA has been the partner of ophthalmologists since 1988, offering cutting-edge solutions that evolve the practices and working methods of vision professionals.
Backed by its solid experience in refraction, NIDEK SA is presenting RT-Connect software, its latest innovative and unique Telerefraction solution. Now you can control subjective refraction remotely.
RT-Connect software combines remote automatic refractor control (NIDEK RT6100 and RT-5100) and NIDEK connected consultation units, the only units on the market able to achieve this performance (Affinity RT, OT-6400 and Synetic).
Thanks to the combined remote control of the refractor and the remote unit, no one is needed on site to assist the patient when conducting the eye examination. The operator and patient communicate remotely through video conferencing systems.
Since 1993, NIDEK SA has been designing, manufacturing and distributing consultation units bearing the “Origine France Garantie” label.
With RT-Connect, the remote operator can raise/lower the chair and control the refractor movement in front of the patient’s eyes.
Plus, for near vision, the operator can lower the test rod and tilt the refractor for a more natural examination position.
With RT-Connect software, a remote operator can control sites (belonging to the same entity) in different geographic locations via a dedicated server.
RT-Connect software is intended for use by eyecare professionals (ophthalmologists, orthopticians, opticians and optometrists) authorised to perform subjective refraction examinations to establish and/or check an eyeglass prescription.
The innovative RT-Connect Telerefraction solution is the qualitative step that effectively complements task assignment and opens up new perspectives in improving patient care.
