For all optics professionals, the environmental impact of products has become a strict selection criterion. NIDEK has placed this issue at the heart of its action and commits itself to developing products to: protect the workers of the assembling workshops, preserve the resources, develop water-saving solutions and limit plastic wastes. Keeping in mind these criteria, NIDEK designs its equipment and its centrifugal tanks. So, thanks to a clever centrifugal process, edging wastes are separated from water, so the water can be reused. This process prevents water from heating, thus guaranteeing a constant edging quality.
Glass edging, particularly high refractive index glasses, generate unwanted smells, because hydrogen sulphide is rejected.
Hydrogen sulphide is classed broad-spectrum poison. The exposition to this product, even at low concentrations can cause eye and throat irritation, a painful cough, a shortness of breath, and a fluid leak in the lungs. To improve the comfort and the protection of opticians, NIDEK has also created filtration and air-purification tools.
The LED-200 smell extractor absorbs the bad smells produced when edging and the emissions of hydrogen sulphide.
To improve the protection and the comfort of the personnel working in assembling workshops, the LED-200 smell extractor reduces the emissions of hydrogen sulphide and eliminates the bad smells emitted during the assembly. The FLU-220 is totally dedicated to environmental protection. In addition to the range of edgers, it makes possible reducing water-consumption by up to 90%.
