The AFC-330 is a non-mydriatic fundus camera used to make pictures of the retina without pupil dilation, and of the anterior segment. This is a detection equipment designed to delegate the tasks, thanks to automation.
It integrates a 12 Mega pixel CCD camera able to capture a 45° acquisition field in a single shot. It proposes different automatisms to make the readings easier. So, the photography of the fundus can be delegated and integrated to assist working protocols.
This device can automatically perform the recognition of the eye, the tracking, the alignment, the focus and the triggering. If necessary, the touchscreen can take back control of the situation and adapt the measurement. Once the picture is validated, the impression and the transfer of the image can be automated.
The results are optimised, thanks to different advanced features, such as the detection of the eyelids and of the blinking, or the small pupil mode to extend the acquisition area to very narrow pupils. So all the patients’ profiles can be sent to the AFC-330.
The AFC-330 is also used to takes pictures of the anterior segment. Thanks to a built-in adjusting lens, the focus focal point is taken to the front of the eye. Detecting and tracking different diseases of the anterior segment and eye appendices, such as iris melanomas, herpes, eyelid nits, etc., is possible.
To extend the acquisition area to the periphery, the AFC-330 proposes the Panorama mode, with 7 fixation points, matching the ETDRS dials defined to detect the diabetic retinopathy.
Please note that the AFC-330 is referenced by the OPHDIAT telemedicine network, set in 2004 by the French APHP to detect the diabetic retinopathy, and applied by more than 43 sites in 2018.
To perform a deeper analysis, the AFC-330 can either be operated independently, without any related computer, to take pictures and directly upload data, or connected to the NIDEK NAVIS-EX software platform. Thanks to this interface dedicated to image analysis, you can use different measurement tools useful to define the contour of the papilla and of its excavation (Cup/Disc ratio), to the application of digital filters (blue, anerythristic, etc.) or to the reconstruction of panoramic images.
