This unit is the most versatile unit of the NIDEK range. The OT-6400 unit is a fully powered and automated rotating unit, for 3 or 4 instruments, plus a translating and tilting refractor arm. This top-of-the-range unit benefits from smooth motions and a smart design.
The OT-6400 has been thoroughly designed, and indeed it is a stylish and smart unit. Its sides are quite elegant and the carters have been especially designed under the shelves.
All the motions of the unit – rotation, up and down motions of the plate, out-motion of the shelves and of the refractor arm, tilting motion of the arm, lifting the armchair, are powered to prevent any physical tiredness. The controls are performed through a soft-touch panel; just press a button to enter a command. The position of this panel has been optimised: no need to look at it to use it.
The OT-6400 is the first Premium unit designed to ensure a remote control. It has been developed to make the consultation user-friendlier by concentrating all the required instruments in a single place, thus preventing the patients from having to move inside the consultation room.
Handling the unit is easy, thanks to an application (available on Play Store and Apple Store) offering stunning features, such as an intuitive and smart additional control panel, to follow-up the failures or disengage the motors to switch to the manual mode. Thanks to the definition of different user’s working profiles, the practitioner can retrieve his/her own settings.
The OT-6400 consultation unit includes many storage places. Most of configurations include a central storage case. The design is smart and proposes to the practitioners a place to store their daily accessories and their test glasses, an additional space, at the top, and different connections at the rear, to connect some devices, such as a lensometer. In the 3-instrument configuration, a drawer (optional) can be added to complete the storage offer.
Thanks to the ‘constant eye height’ concept, the OT-6400 automatically adapts the height depending on each chinrest height. Practically, the plate of the unit moves up and down during the rotation, depending on the instruments placed on the different shelves. The unit also proposes a powered-translation refractor arm, thanks to a single setting performed at the beginning of the examination. Also the refractor arm can tilt to perform the examination of the near vision in more natural conditions. No need to set up the plate and armchair heights when switching from an instrument to another one; the OT-6400 reduces the practitioners’ tiredness and helps them in reducing the average time of their consultations.
The OT-6400 is at the cutting edge of the technology. It has been awarded the label « Origine France Garantie », is manufactured in the NIDEK plant of Saint Priest, in the region Rhônes-Alpes, in France.
